I am now…..one of THEM. (gasp)

I would have never imagined myself becoming one of “THEM”.
Willing to endure the stares, the jeering rude comments of passers by, the wind and rain and eventual snow. I was a “waiter” a “camper” an example of endurance against the elements. I was mocked, stared at, photographed, video taped and interviewed, and yet I never gave up my small piece of territory. I occupied an area of concrete roughly 4 feet wide by 6 feet long for 10 hours through the night. The temperatures plummeted to 30 degrees, the wind reached speeds of 15mph. The wind chill factor was 19 degrees. I wasn’t alone, there were others. We all shared a bond of sorts, we looked out for one another. We kept each others territory safe, we shared food and drink, we shared conversation together. But we were all there for various reasons, some were there for personal gratification, fulfilling their own personal needs. Others were there for more “entrepreneurial “ reasons….the lure of money. Then there were those like me, displaying the true meaning of altruism. I suffered and endured for someone else’s benefit. I know this all sounds so grand, almost like a short term struggle of epic proportions, and I know you want to know what I am talking about. What was all this done for? Well a NINTENDO WII OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.

I suffered to become a hero to my son. And you know what? It was worth every second!

I just got an extra controller, and Tony Hawks downhill jam. I am gonna download a bunch of older Nintendo titles today though. This week I'm gonna go get Zelda and Red Steel. Jason has a wii AND a PS3! He has two rainchecks for PS3's when they get more.
