Scott Bourne is a pompous ass..........

So how is this for being a pompous ass?

Today I posted a comment on one of his photos outside of the TWiP photo Flickr group. I saw it in my contacts activity list so I went to look at it.

In the comment I asked what camera he used to shoot the photo. I asked because he has an awesome collection of camera and the EXIF data was not present in the photo, which is common in a lot of his photos.

This is his response to that question..quoted from his Flickr page.

"@sll33stak because it just doesn't seem to me that people should care. Here's why. If you want to know what exposure I used here, thinking you want to duplicate it, the only way that works is if you go at the same time I do, under the same exact lighting conditions, same exact weather, etc. There's no magic to knowing that info. The CONCEPTS are far more important. Learning when and where you want a fast shutter speed or a slow one; a wide aperture or a stopped down aperture, etc."

I then responded to that by saying that I wasn't after those things and that I simply wanted to know what camera shot the picture. I mean if it was shot with a $300 point and shoot and I couldn't see a difference between it and a $3000 body then..... Well, you get the idea right?

He then responds to that with this.

"@sl33stak you can't judge color or noise on the web in my opinion. Every monitor is different. Post-processing choices also make it hard to judge.

If you want to know what camera I used, I'll tell you. This was a Nikon D90 w/Nikon 14-24 F/2.8 lens mounted on a Gitzo tripod w/Acratech head. But again, that just doesn't matter. I could have made this image with nearly any camera. Plenty of people with that exact combination of gear and place wouldn't have made the same image. "

IDK, that just seemed snippy. I mean I asked what about the camera, not the tripod or ball head. I didn't ask if he, a PROFESSIONAL photographer could recreate that shot with any camera (arrogant). I just wanted to know which camera he was using.

So I was irked a bit at this point and said that I wasn't even interested in the image in that way because to me it just looked like a snapshot, nothing too special. I just wanted to know what camera it was....That's all.

So what does he do next? He posts THIS on TWITTER

"Out of more than 14,000 people in our Flickr groups, I've only had to ban 6 for being extreme idiots. Translation? We have a good audience!"

And then BANS me from the TWiP photo Flickr group.

To me, that is an arrogant pompous ass.

Now UN subscribing from TWiT.....and Sorry Leo but if I hear him on TWiT I'll have to skip that particular podcast episode.
